Trust is at the foundation of influence.
If someone you trust asks you to do something, you consider it because you trust them.
You know they have your best interest at heart.
But how can you build trust with someone you just met who knows you get rewarded when they come in more.
The answer, you can’t always.
However, one tool that will help you build that trust with many of your patients is mirroring.
We fear what is different and are attracted to what’s similar.
Similarity leads to bonding and trust.
Mirroring can unconsciously insinuate this bond and help you connect with the patient to listen and consider your recommendations.
