61. The Insurance Conundrum

If you are in-network with insurance companies, it is easier to get new patients.

Trust me, I know.

Blue cross closed their network before I opened my practice, and ten years later, they still won't let me in.

So many people stop listening when they hear out of network.

If your marketing strongly differentiates you, some will still come, but never the less it creates more work for you.

But if you are in-network, the in-network rates are many times so low you are almost losing money by taking care of the patients.

The answer to this is factoring in non-covered services that will genuinely help the patient and allow you to increase your per visit and case averages.

Decompression, re-Xrays, PEMF, Laser, NUCCA, etc.

These are all approaches to help provide value to your patients and get you around the in-network conundrum..
