Why should you hire a coach? In my opinion the #1 reason someone should hire a coach is accountability. It does not matter how much you know, the only thing that matters is how much you do!!!! Knowledge is only power if it is applied with persistence and focus.
We have clients that join our training after having done many different coaching programs with many different scripts, procedures and systems. Some are looking for a system that is ethical and we provide that. Then others are looking for a practical and proven system used and perfected by chiropractors that are currently practicing and own their practices, which many coaches out there do not. However, the vast majority need a coach to hold them accountable more than anything else. They need someone to make sure their goals are challenging but achievable. They need a coach to make sure they are implementing the daily disciplines necessary for elite performance.
It is important to share your goals with your coach or a trusted colleague, someone that will support you but also help hold you accountable to achieving those goals. If you want to lose 10 pounds then let them know so they check in with you to make sure you are eating and exercising the right way. There are tough and uncomfortable moments when you are growing and if you have the support system of someone who has been there and knows what it takes, it will help you stay on track and achieve your goals. You can see this trend in professional tennis, the top players today like Novak Djockovic and Roger Federer are hiring top players from the past, as their coaches. Players and now coaches, like Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg, know what it takes because they have been there for those big moments themselves. They know how to balance family life with all the travel, as they did it successfully, and this is why they are able to help as coaches so effectively.
Do your research and find a coach that is ethical, and is doing what you want to do. Take your time and choose wisely. If you do, it will help you develop faster and bigger than you could have ever imagined.
