I was struggling with going to the office then…

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Recently, I noticed that I was struggling with getting motivated to go to the Office.

Like on most days I had lots to do, but on this day, I was using my to-do list to push
me around and convincing myself that I did not have the Time.

I was locked up in thinking, about all I had to do and even started listening to my self-talk of how I could do it all tomorrow.

I am sure this has never happened to You, but I have noticed that occasionally when I really don’t feel like being Motivated in the Office, my self-talk can be pretty negative and lethargic.

After enduring this inner Dialog, I decided to strike a compromise and just go to the Office with an Open Mind, but speed everything up, in English it means, Like my Mom said; “DO IT NOW, RIGHT NOW!!!” . Once I arrived in the Office It was ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK, I really did not feel like working but I figured a little movement would help everyone.

What happened next was totally unexpected – I kept getting more and more motivated. Suddenly I was in the midst of one of the best afternoons of the year. I found myself Focused and Committed to Serving and Beating Yesterdays Goals.

On the way home I started wondering – where did that motivation come from? Then it hit me. It came from being at the right place at the right time – the Practice. As I reflected, I realized that there were many days I did not feel like working, but if I just got to the practice, suddenly I found some inspiration. Then it hit me – being in the right place at the right time is what it’s all about.

Get the Big Idea All Else Follows and Stimulate Activate Motivate

Be in the Right Place @ the Right Time!!!

Baby Caden has Colic/Constipation, What Do I Do???

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Within the field of Chiropractic, the concept of Spinal Articular Motion(Function)- (SAM) and disorders caused by the lack of Spinal Articular Motion –i.e. Baby Caden,A patient with Diag-nosis of colic/constipation, Medication has not worked! What do we do???

We Check the Crainial-Sacral Parasympathetic Connection for Spinal Articular Motion/Fixation/Subluxation which forms the basis of many core principles of Chiropractic and provide a foundation for diagnosis and treatment.

Wow!!! within hours Baby Caden has Multiple Bowel Movements and Activates the Healing Process by manifesting Drainage thru the Elimination System – Sinuses, Lungs and it’s complimentary Organ, The Colon. Now the Parents are Excited and Decide to become New Patients!!! RIGHT ON!!!

As Chiropractors, we place great value on identifying the presence or absence of Spinal Articular Motion(Function). We utilize the presence or absence of Spinal Articular Motion (Function) in making a diagnosis.

At the same time we respect that Spinal Articular Motion(Function) is an expression of Health and therefore Life and is intimately involved with the self-healing and self-correcting mechanisms of Homeodynamics not Homeostasis. Check out the difference!!!

The Physiological Stimulation, Activation and Adjustment of the Crainial-Sacral Parasympathetic Connection thru the detection of an integrated expression of Spinal Articular Motion (Function) is one of the Chiropractic perceptions of Integration of the Triune of Health thru Aligment of #1.Structure(NeuroMuscularSkeletal -NMS/ #2. Whole Food Nutrition (Minerals) #3. Glandular – (Hormonal Balance) .

Now go to work and Apply the Concept of Spinal Articular Motion(Function)

Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all the time thing. You don’t win once in a while; you don’t do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that’s first place. I have finished second twice in my time at Green Bay, and I don’t ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win.

Every time a football player goes to ply his trade he’s got to play from the ground up–from the soles of his feet right up to his head. Every inch of him has to play. Some guys play with their heads. That’s O.K. You’ve got to be smart to be number one in any business. But more importantly, you’ve got to play with your heart, with every fiber of your body. If you’re lucky enough to find a guy with a lot of head and a lot of heart, he’s never going to come off the field second.

Running a football team is no different than running any other kind of organization–any army, a political party or a business. The principles are the same. The object is to win—to beat the other guy. Maybe that sounds hard or cruel. I don’t think it is.
It is a reality of life that men are competitive and the most competitive games draw the most competitive men. That’s why they are there—to compete. To know the rules and objectives when they get in the game. The object is to win fairly, squarely, by the rules–but to win.

And in truth, I’ve never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn’t appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat.
I don’t say these things because I believe in the “brute” nature of man or that men must be brutalized to be combative. I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour—his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear—is that moment when he has to work his heart out in a good cause and he’s exhausted on the field of battle—victorious.

“Find the Objection” 1 Fundamental to the Consultation

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

In my 29 years of practicing chiropractic, I have studied patient education and human communication extensively. For years, I carried a voice activated recorder in my clinic jacket. I would study these tapes, analyzing what I said and did when a patient followed my recommendations, and what I said and did when a patient did not follow my recommendations. This allowed me to develop a game plan with important fundamentals for each and every patient visit. These strategies can and will maximize your time with the patient. When you improve your education, your retention and referrals will absolutely explode.

At our chiropractic management seminars, we teach that the first visit is the most important visit and it all starts with the consultation. This is where the paradigm shift begins. You must have a plan for teaching patients that the crisis model will never bring health, and the prevention model is the key to health and longevity.

One main point to cover in an effective consultation is FIND THE PATIENT’S OBJECTION. Almost every patient will have an objection to chiropractic care. It is your responsibility to dig during the consultation to find the patient’s objection. If they have never been to a chiropractor before a good question to ask is “What have you heard about chiropractic, good and bad?” You must be patient and persistent. Many common objections are: “I heard you have to go forever.”, “I heard the adjustment hurts.”, “I heard chiropractic is expensive.”, “I heard the adjustment can cause strokes.”, “I don’t want my neck cracked.”. You must practice and rehearse responses to educate the patient. When you want to disagree with the patient always start from a place of agreement. For example, if the patient tells me: “I heard you have to go to chiropractors forever.” I might tell him/her: “I understand Kathy, I have heard that many times. I like you, but I don’t want to see you forever. In this office, we practice specific corrective care and if you do have a subluxation I will give you a timeline for correcting it. When your teeth are straight the braces come off, it’s the same in this office, when your spine is in alignment corrective care ends.”

I call my chiropractic management seminars, trainings because you must train yourself through space time repetition to become a reflex in your office. A reflex happens without conscious thought. When you train yourself to find the patient’s objection and cover many other important points during your consultation instinctively without thinking about it then you are becoming a rhino chiropractor.
