Parable of the Soil

Parable of the Soil
Gospel of Mark Chapter 4

Behold, there went out a sower to sow: Intention
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty and some sixty, and some an hundred.
And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This is the parable of the sower who went out to sow.

Everything we do in our practice has meaning or we don’t do the procedure. It amazes me how many doctors just do a procedure without any deliberate intention as to why they are doing the specific procedure.

Intention is everything in practice.

Your experience is a direct reflection of your Intention.

This ancient wisdom is still prevalent in the land of modern day practice. It teaches me every Monday when I tell the chiropractic story and hand out those 4 cards that I am sowing seeds. And here’s the kicker, not everyone is going to hear the message nor understand the message.

But that does not deter me from Spreading the good news that the physiology is a self regulating, self healing organism. Now I know after 25 years in practice that not every patient is going to get the Big Idea, the Gestalt in Psychology, but the ones that get it, WOW they get it, you must find out who they are.

Some patients are just not ready. There are birds in their lives snatching up and devouring any positive insight that comes their way.

Other patients get very excited in the beginning, what they’re hearing may last a week or maybe 12 visits but they don’t let the message sink deep into the soil of their minds and hearts so they quit and drop out of care. You did nothing wrong, they don’t know what happened, but the Energy they felt dissolved.

Some patients have thorns in their lives – worries, stresses, financial strains, that choke out the Divine Wisdom that could have taken root and grown.

Wow, now we get Excited because those patients who are fertile Soil, they take the Seeds of the Idea and bloom, they Spread the Excitement and refer some 30, 60 or 100 FOLD NEW PATIENTS. Calm down and settle in, sow the seeds of Prosperity and Infinite Abundance wherever you may go.

What can we draw from this magnificient parable?

1. That success does not depend on the Sower.
2. That success does not depend on the Seed.
3. The basic issue is the Soil.

There are 4 different types of Soil out there, different conditions, different behavior, different personalities, different environments that may prevent or promote our ideas from taking hold and multiplying.

Our job is to practice @ Peak Performance Levels, Skills and Abilities, knowing that the Results lie Ultimately in the Soil.
